Well the opening night of the show went really well, I received a lot of great feedback from the people who attended. Its was particularly nice to get positive feedback from those who work in the Industry.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw one of my junior school teachers at the show, what a small world it is. She was a bit eccentric, as most creatives tend to be, but she was a good teacher, always encouraged me with my art. The time has been very kind to her, she didn't look much different from all those years ago.

Big night tonight! It is the opening night of the 'Summer Creatives' show at CCAD Hartlepool.

Just finished some very early character drawings for a book by one of my Lecturers. It is a very interesting story with lots of equally fascinating characters. All of my course work is now completed, so now its onto the end of year show.

Spent today drawing lots of Skunks in the Creative Lodge with the very talented Illustrator Amanda Bradley. Had a lot of fun trying to capture the drunk skunk look.

Well Design week is now over, and I have to say it ended on a bit of an anti- climax. I was really looking forward to the live brief with a local design agency but apparently they were too busy so they cancelled at short notice. It wasn't very professional, but it is what it is. However, the day was not lost thanks to the marketing team at CCAD who came up with a live brief.

Design Week

Its design week at the college and I had my first lectures today from Calligrapher Dr Manny Ling and comic book artist and illustrator Hunt Emerson. Both lectures were very inspirational with such great work and advice given throughout. Manny and Hunt were very nice guys, Hunt's work in particular resonated with me, it transported myself back to my childhood days of the beano etc.

I have to say I felt a little humbled meeting the guy behind the artwork that I had enjoyed as a kid, and infact still do!
